March Big Duck Trainings: Social Media

Jenna Silverman

What do nonprofit communicators want to learn about the most these days? Well, from what we’ve been hearing, it sounds like many organizations are ready to take social media to the next level.

If you’ve set up your Facebook page, mastered the art of communicating in 140 characters or less on Twitter, and have found yourself wondering what’s next, we’re here to help! This month, the Ducks are staying local and giving a ton of great different workshops on all things social media.

Advanced Social Media Training

Join us at our office in DUMBO, Brooklyn on Thursday, March 21st from 9:00-11:00 for bagels, coffee, and a workshop on how to make social media a success at your organization.

You’ll learn:

  • How to attack new and emerging social media channels.
  • How to engage your community more deeply on the channels you’re already using.
  • How to integrate your message and brand across platforms.
  • What other nonprofits are doing and how you can apply best practices.

Space is limited for this workshop, so register today. (You can also catch this talk at the Taproot Foundation if you’re a grantee or a participant in Baruch Nonprofit Consulting Day, but the views from our office are much better!)

Ask the pros: How to Manage Social Media at Your Nonprofit

Since not everyone can make it to Brooklyn, we’re taking over Idealist’s office on April 4th from 9:00-11:00 am. We’ve assembled a rockstar panel of community managers to answer your burning questions, moderated by the ever-popular Farra Trompeter. Together, they’ll share how they use social media to engage their communities, as well as tips and tactics on how to effectively use social media. And did we mention that this is a FREE event?
Learn more about the panelists and how to register.

“Is it time to rethink your website?” and “Writing for the web”

We’re also very excited to be presenting at the Just Food Conference on March 29th. Liz and Farra will talk about whether or not it’s time to rethink your website, and later in the day, Maddy will share her expertise on making your website easier to read.

Brandraise to Fundraise

Is social media’s not your thing? Instead you’re wondering how your brand relates to your fundraising campaigns? Sarah will be at the UJA-Federation of New York on March 19th, explaining how effective brandraising will help you spend less time reinventing the right messages and more time reinforcing them. This workshop is run through the UJA-Federation Weiner Educational Center (This workshop is open to UJA Network agencies and grantees, but we’ll be webinaring on this topic soon).

If you’re looking to communicate better, join us at one of our upcoming trainings. Hey, you might even get to hear me give a workshop or two!
