Using mission to guide decisions

Hosted by Nonprofit New York's 2026 Annual Conference

November 5, 2026 2:20 pm–November 5, 2026 3:35 pm

A mission statement is a strategic tool for focusing organizational activity. It gives leaders, staff, and boards a shared basis for deciding what to prioritize, pursue, and decline. This interactive workshop will help participants distinguish mission, vision, and values, and recognize how to use that clarity to align community needs, programs, evidence, and purpose through clear language that guides decisions and action.

Farra Trompeter, co-director, will join a panel of other experts, including Jheramis A. H. Collado of the Student Leadership Network and Ashley Lanfer of Wellspring Consulting.

This session is part of Nonprofit New York’s annual conference.
