Communications and Development: Bringing cats and dogs together

Hosted by NTEN

March 13, 2019 1:30 pm–March 13, 2019 2:45 pm

Do your development and communications teams fight like cats and dogs? In this session, we’ll break the typical presentation format and host an interactive debate tackling questions commonly challenging nonprofits, such as “Who writes fundraising appeals?” and “Whose constituent is it?.” We’ll ask for audience participation throughout and break into groups to dig into real-life situations before sharing concrete tips you can immediately put into practice.

So join us as we raise the ruff, cause this purrty will be off the leash! We promise to not use too many puns, though we may take the oppawtunity when it presents itself.

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify development and communications teams collaborative roles and how/when/if we should work together or keep separated.
  • Apply new tips and tactics to improve how you work and collaborate with your teams
  • Understand how effective collaboration between development and communications can advance our organizations goals.
