Ryan Gerhardt


Guided by down-home sensibilities and an eagerness to entertain, Ryan brings an engaging, relatable writing style to reinforce the voice behind any nonprofit messaging project.

Ryan is a graduate of Syracuse University, where he studied both advertising and political science. Prior to joining the Big Duck team, Ryan honed his communications skills across an array of applications – from book publishing and writing articles for online media outlets, to copywriting work in the agency world and in-house marketing for a nonprofit. While with the ad agency, Ryan took the lead in helping businesses and organizations craft their unique voice, perspective, and story. 

When he’s not at Big Duck, Ryan can probably be found studying script techniques in a darkened movie theater, enjoying a quick slice of pizza, or traversing the streets of Brooklyn to prepare for his next race.
