Claire Taylor Hansen
Claire’s passionate about transforming how nonprofits communicate. While supporting and leading the creative team at Big Duck, she also acts as lead designer on client work. Claire has collaborated on dozens of major brand overhauls, capital and fundraising campaigns, and much more since joining Big Duck in 2016. She’s enjoys speaking and facilitating conversations that provoke new ways of thinking about nonprofit branding and campaigns.
For over a decade Claire has been crafting compelling visuals in the nonprofit sector. Before joining Big Duck, She worked as an independent creative director and designer for nonprofit clients, who included Urban Green Council, the San Francisco Botanic Garden, and Idealist. Prior to that, her nonprofit experience was as in-house creative for Brooklyn Botanic Garden, during which time she participated in a capital campaign and a rebrand effort – all while learning a few Latin botanical terms. And her first job after graduating from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in 2007 was with The Public Theater and Shakespeare in the Park—which came with the added perk of experiencing New York’s theater scene.
When she’s not at her computer, Claire’s likely to be found exploring Toronto (where she’s recently moved), or on a canoe trip in the Canadian wilds with her spouse and kids.
